About Home Brewed

Well-known as “The Brew City,” Milwaukee has a long-standing reputation for all things beer – a reputation made possible by the creativity and innovation of local creators. Come share your love of good beer and great design with fellow designers and homebrewers as AIGA Wisconsin and the Brenner Brewing Company host their second annual Home Brewed Beer & Label Competition. The final event will be held on August 7th at Brenner Brewing Company in the Walker’s Point neighborhood (click here for directions).

All Wisconsin homebrewers, designers, illustrators, creatives and community members age 21 or over are invited to pair up in teams to create custom craft beer and labels to be entered into the competition. It will be left up to the final event attendees to vote on best beer-label coupling based on pairing, creativity and presentation. Beer labels must be submitted online by Thursday, July 31st, while bottled or kegged homebrewed beer must be brought to Brenner Brewing Company on August 7th.

Can’t quite commit the time into crafting your own custom beer / label? Don’t worry, you can still attend the final event! Not only will you be able to check out, sample and vote on all the amazing submissions, you’ll also be given access to the newly established Brenner Brewing microbrewery and get the chance to hear from founder Mike Brenner himself. This inspirational individual has a passion for crafting delicious beer and a lifelong devotion to Milwaukee’s arts and music scene. He’s incorporating a 25,000 sq. ft. arts incubator in the building with the brewery which will feature a contemporary art gallery and 20 artists’ studio spaces. You don’t want to miss this event!

PLEASE NOTE: If you are part of a brewer + designer team that is submitting an entry, you DO NOT need to register separately to attend the final event. See you in August!
